Chronicles of eHarmonia – In The Beginning

Yesterday I saw a commercial for eHarmony. As I was listening the idea occurred to me to sign up and blog about my experience. So I’m doing just that…

The initial sign up is a pain…but the outcome is a detailed, honest description of you and your wants for a partner. Doing the questionnaire isn’t so bad but I was doing it late at night so I had to go back and assess the sleep deprived writings I did. The questionnaire is very detailed.

Some of the sections included:

  • Lists of interests you rank from most interested to least interested
  • Typed section with things you’re passionate about
  • 3 things you enjoy at your leisure
  • 3 things you’re most thankful for
  • Other than your parents who has been most influential to you
  • 4 things your friends would say about you
  • 3 best life skills
  • What is the most important quality you look for in someone else?
  • What’s one thing people first notice about you?
  • What’s one thing people DON’T first notice about you and you wish they would?
  • 5 things you can’t live without.
  • Describe one thing about yourself only your best friends know.

There’s a list of your must haves and can’t stands viewable to potential matches once you’re done with this interrogation. Of course you can go back and change things up. Also there is your photo section.
After you fill out this massive, soul searching questionnaire and your life/personality is compiled into textual jumble you can review multiple reports according to information you provided. The report sections include: agreeableness, openness, emotional stability, conscientiousness, and extroversion. After reading through the reports I determined they were mostly me. There were a few things that I didn’t agree with but otherwise the reports certainly weren’t misleading. In the different report sections it breaks it down into words that describe you, general descriptions of how you interact with others, positive and negative views people may have towards you.

Ultimately I decided I’d pay and sign up for one month. It costs $49.99 for this one month so I intend to make the most of it and share it with all of you!!
